Work continues on the future Charles Hight Square, which is slated to be anchored by a Publix. Charles Worthen, a principal with developer Madison Retail, said they are working on an underground water retention system, which is a $500,000 expense. Madison is currently bidding out for a general contractor for the buildings, and construction is expected to begin around Thanksgiving.
