Regina Wright has a heart for serving the people she works with.
Wright is the executive director of the Riverwood Retirement Life Community, an assisted living center that has been in Rome for 25 years.
The business, located at 511 West 10th Street, boasts 50 rooms with 46 residents. The average age of each resident is 85.
Wright has been managing the facility for two years.
“As I get older my love for my parents and grand parents grows stronger,” she said. “I want to make sure they are taken care of.”
She says that each person in the facility is treated like a family member.
“I treat every lady like that’s my mom and every gentlemen like that’s my dad,” she said.
The community prepares its residence three healthy meals a day on site, and Wright said they offer a Christian-centered home.
“We’re the oldest facility in town and when you think of our name you think of a nice facility,” she said.
Each one of the residents are mobile, a requirement for the community.
Because the residence is a home for the people who live there, they bring their own furniture and decorations.
The facility is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for visitors looking to check out the location Monday through Friday. To make an appointment call 706-235-0807.
