Atheists in trouble at the end of it all

People think they came from monkeys and the world just happened. They do not believe God took a handful of dirt and made them. I wonder how they ever got off the banana diet. God has something to say about that kind of person. “The fool has said in his heart there is no God. Corrupt are they and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.” (Psalm 53)

Yes, the atheist say the Bible is just an old book of fairy tales, The Bible is not of human origin yet it exists in a human world as God’s word to man. Because of the evil in some men the word of God painful to them, and they strike out against it. But instead of destroying the word they only cause it to increase. The Bible was here before they got here and will be here when this letter writer is gone. Atheists get lost between dusk and dawn.

The Russians don’t think highly of them either. There is a story of the local commissar who asked about the crop and was told, “Under our glorious leader, our potato crop has prospered indeed. If all our potatoes were piled up, they would form the very feet of God.”

“But,” sputtered the commissar, “surely you know there is no God.”

The peasant smiled and replied, “Perhaps that is why there are no potatoes either.”

I believe in — and worship — God. When I die, if there is no God, I have nothing to lose. But when the atheist dies and he finds out there is a God — and I know there is — he has everything to lose. Hell is a hot place to go.

I love the fact that it started as saying that "some people believe that we came from monkeys and the world just happen" without saying that there is proof for that so-called belief. How this person keeps on talking about how God has this or God plans that and how the word of adult fable will live longer than science and reason, which I would like to point that this person may have none.

I especially love the end where he points out that if there is no heaven, then he loses nothing whereas if there is one, then we atheist loses everything. It's funny because he believes in an afterlife without proof required and just lies on faith.

I wonder if he ever read the bible in its entirely, especially where the part that counters the "The Fool" quote. You know, Matt 5:22, "But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca,' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, 'YOU FOOL!' will be in danger of the fire of hell." which he tells us that we are fools thought this article.

Makes you wonder if he will be entitled to hell.

lol trans,

I am indeed passionate, and sarcastic too. I'd imagine by the end of the night we'd have alienated everyone around us, but had a damn good time in the process.

Anyways.... Take Care

Ryan, I think we would have a blast, these post don't show my humor or sarcasm very well...I'm told I make some crazy facial expressions to will talking/debating/fellowshiping...you seem passionate yet (I want to say humble if that makes sense...

until then...

I know you’re joking but there is no message of Evolution, just like there is no message of Gravity.

People infer all sorts of things, but science is a mere descriptor of the natural world. To be scared, or disparate of science is to miss out on the beauty of the world we live in.

****

Trans, if we ever met I'm sure we'd have a great discussion over a couple beers. (if you drink, that is)

Yes there are many many things written in the Bible, and I for one am glad I don't need to reference the Bible on how to treat slaves:)

Personally I find the message of evolution hateful and dehumanizing...guess we'll be hating each other for awhile won't we ;)

And Emmett if you goal is to “win over” some atheists you should find some and become their friend! 90% of communication is non-verbal, I don’t think you message is coming across as well as you think.

« RyanM wrote on Wednesday, Nov 18 at 04:48 PM »
Yep… I still say that a Christian should spread their beliefs. However, just because their main goal is evangelism, doesn’t mean that it’s not hate.

I understand both concepts very well, and I can also see how a case can be both.

To further that though, there are some very hateful messages in the Bible itself. So to spread the word would still be hateful. (I mean, what kind of God would give directions for slavery. Not just some loosely interpreted stuff either. This God gave clear and distinct methods for the treatment of slaves. That’s pretty hateful, no matter how you try and rationalize it.)

“”Many people of all religions and many people of no religion are nuts...””

YES SIR. I couldn’t agree more. I went to the atheist convention here in Atlanta. I met some people that I now consider friends, but I saw some people that were complete whackos too! No label, religion, or cult is going to make a person decent.

How’s the saying go?

…A good person will always do good things, a bad person will always do bad things, but for a good person to do bad things it takes religion.

Ryan, you have also commented how you think that if a Christian truly believes...it is his/her "duty" to tell people.

though I don't always agree on how people share their faith, I do beleive it is a duty, but something better done in person...just me...

Even prophets of old are hated by their own people, it's pretty much expected.

Don't confuse concern, or even duty with hate...If I believe God is telling me to warn you of a coming doom do I hate you? I would say only if I didn't warn you!

Many people of all religions and many people of no religion are nuts...

lol.... I just made a comment elsewhere about how these whack letters come up Christians never renounce them.

As long as you believe in their God you receive protection to spout and message you want, not matter how ignorant or hateful it is.

If that's moral, I think I'll pass

I was just reading over these comments, and couldn't believe how many of you made hateful remarks about people of faith, yet are able to type reproofs about how hateful "religious" people are. So if I (or anyone for that matter) quote the Bible then I'm making threats and am full of hate...hmmm...question how long before I am considered a bigot for quoting say the constitution?

and Christians, please remember the Bible is written to the believer.

WGL, I'm sorry that your neigbors are poor examples of good people what ever their beliefs are.

Anom...

Are you talking about the author of this letter?

If so you are just as bad is him.

Do you tolerate all types of hate as long as they don't affect you?

Everyone IS entitled to their own opinion. However, if you're going to broadcast a hateful message I'll be the first in line to tell you that you're wrong. I don't care who you're hating against.

I understand where the religious nuts come from, but the widespread acceptance of them is inexcusable.

As the famous Ingersoll said:

I will not attack your doctrines nor your creeds if they accord liberty to me. If they hold thought to be dangerous - if they aver that doubt is a crime, then I attack them one and all, because they enslave the minds of men.

-Robert Green Ingersoll

Wow. Heaven forbid some other people, not having any affect on you whatsoever, have a different opinion.

No wait, maybe I should not say, "Heaven forbid"... How about, "Can't we just all get along!? Please!"

Hey WGL,

Excellent comment.

Also, Voter is right. If you build a fence it's your responsibility to get a survey done. If it's wrong you have the burden of fixing it. Pretty much not matter how much it costs.

...only builders can sometimes get a hardship exemption if they lay an entire foundation too close to the line.

Westgalady: Some Georgians must be born with that land grabbing gene, my neighbor tried to use the same method and terminology on me. One week later I had a survey and MY new fence on the property line which made the neighbors driveway suddenly very narrow.

Don't let them get away with stuff like that.

I have two lovely christian neighbors. The one on the left built a fence in her yard that came over on my property 6 feet. When I asked her if we could talk about the problem she told me "I don't think my fence is on your property, but even if it is there is nothing you can do about it." The other sweet lady told me this week she had to file for bankruptcy because of all her medical bills, but that she has lied (the word she used) to the courts and listed several dependants which she doesn't have, so that her Chapter 13 repayment plan will allow her to keep more of her salary. These two ladies are very proud of their christian status and both have told me they are not perfect, but that god forgives them. All they have to do is ask for forgiveness and all is forgiven. Tell me the goodness in a religion (any religion) that allows it's converts to lie and cheat, and even kill. Religious people might as well be living in the dark ages. I'll take my atheism any day over thinking like that. I am kind, considerate of others, and work for the betterment of my community. And, yes, I figured this out all by myself. I don't need a bible or a preacher or a christian neighbor to understand what is good and what is bad.

The "word of God" is not painful to atheists. Only the bigoted actions of those who "follow God." As an atheist, in fact, I love reading the Bible. Every time I pick it up I find another reason why it's just a silly book full of scribblings from ancient middle eastern goat herders. If it wasn't for reading the Bible cover-to-cover, I would probably never know in my heart (brain) that no god exists (in reality).

Correction to my last post (don't you just hate spell check sometimes?)

Oh good grief, apparently you're so ignorant that you have yet to understand why Pascal's Wager is such a stupid argument. Aside from that however, yours is just an attempt to instill fear in people who don't have any, and you're doing so with a known empty threat.

Move along, move along there's nothing to see here.

speak for yourself Ray. I have a whole lot of hate. I get up in the morning and have hate pancakes and sausage with a big glass of hatejuice. I hate people like this idiot bloodbag called Emmett so much I am going to die of hate cancer and hate worms will eat my hateful eyeballs.

And then I won't hate no more!

Emmett, I feel sorry for you that you are so full of hatred for people who believe differently than you, and look forward to them screaming forever in infinite agony in the Lake of Fire.

I'm sure you would say the Koran, the Torah etc. are just books of fairy tales. You are atheist about Allah, Krishna, Zeus, Thor, Ra, etc. etc. Well guess what, atheists feel the same way about your god. However, we don't hate as much as you.

Atheists are good people. They live decent lives and have high morals. Facts show they are better citizens and neighbors that those of the major bible belt religion. I don't know, perhaps atheists live better because they see through the religious crutch of forgiveness. That would be the bible thumping attitude of asking G-d's forgiveness for something one did when that person knew darn well it was wrong BEFORE they did it but did it anyway. Just ask G-d for forgiveness later, right? But hey, G-d will forgive them, right?

EMMETT CABE wrote: "Because of the evil in some men the word of God painful to them, and they strike out against it."

Shame on you. Atheists are NOT evil. You are. Doing G-d's work are you? Better leave G-d's work to G-d and work about your own azz.

I am not atheist, I like agnostic, but that does not matter since neither way would I consider myself to "strike out against it". I do however "strike out against" hypocrites, that would be you.

EMMETT CABE wrote: "Hell is a hot place to go."

Heaven, hell? It don't add up. It don't make sense. If your kind are in heaven then why would I want to be there? If your kind are in hell then why would I want to be there?
