We have been with Health Quest for almost a month and for most; this is the time that we begin to feel frustrated if we are not seeing the results we pictured in our minds. Everyone has their own goals, many are the same but there is always one thing that is different for each person and that is the actual person. There are not two people on the planet that are exactly alike so why is it that we all think we should see the same results as another person at the same time and in the same way? Body composition is different, environments, lifestyles, and life in general is different from person to person. We need to remember not to look at others and compare ourselves to everyone else (which is easier said than done)! If you have been doing the same thing as your friend in terms of exercise but don’t see the same results as that person; don’t get frustrated with it. Honestly ask yourself if you are challenging yourself with the exercises you are doing. Do you need to step it up a notch and go at a higher intensity or add a different element to your exercise regimen?

Remember, small changes are important and they will help you adjust easier and adhere to the change rather than doing something completely different. This goes for your nutrition as well. Our chemical make-up is different from each other.

Yes we all need to try and maintain a healthy diet that includes, whole grains, fruits, veggies, and all the other colors of the food pyramid, but how our body processes those things may be different from the next person. Experiment with different foods and portions and find what works for you and your body. No diet or exercise program is a “one size fits all” so educate yourself, talk to different people and piece together a lifestyle that fits you! It’s easy to get to this point and say, “well I have tried this for almost a month and I’m not getting the results I want so I’m just going to give up”. What is harder but will prove to be beneficial is to say “I’ve tried this for almost a month and I’m not getting the results I want but I’m going to re-evaluate what I’m doing and keep pushing on.” This is not a quick and easy thing you are doing, but keep pushing on and you will see results.

We are all a part of this Health Quest community and we want to see each and every person succeed in this journey.
