According to Chief Thomas N. Culpepper of the Cartersville Police Department:
On Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at approximately 6:30 p.m., a male entered the store and asked to look at diamond rings. He asked to see a one carat diamond ring. When he was handed the ring fled the store. He left in a silver, four door sedan.
The suspect was described as black male, approximately 5’11”, thin build, wearing black jeans, white T-shirt, black jacket, and square frame glasses.
This appears to be the same suspect who had recently committed similar crimes at two other Kay Jewelers located in East Point and Snellville. In those incidents the suspect also asked to see a one carat diamond Ring and fled once he had possession of the ring.
At the other locations, the suspect said his name was “Mike” and that he wanted to get engaged before Thanksgiving.
At these locations the car in which the suspect left appeared to be a silver Nissan Sentra.
Anyone with information concerning these incidents is asked to call the Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division at 770-387-5690.

That's it? No security video showing the thief? With that description, anyone could drive around the Atlanta area for a couple of hours and come up with a bunch of suspects.
