The Rome News-Tribune’s own Mike Lester will be showing off some of his best work during the month of August in the Rome Area Council for the Arts exhibition gallery.

From Aug. 4 until 28, Lester’s work will be shown for free, and a reception to meet the artist will be held Thursday, Aug. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. The reception is free.

Lester said he’ll be showing off original artwork he’s created for children’s books, along with some of his editorial cartoons which have been in the paper.

He added the show will also feature the process by which the cartoon goes from an idea to being printed in the paper, including notes and sketches he takes while creating the cartoons.
