Ted and Jane Edwards of Armuchee recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. A reception was hosted by their family at Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church with family and friends in attendance.

They were married on July 29, 1962 in Trenton by the Rev. Ira H. Wheeler Jr.

The maid of honor was Dot Cleland and the best man was Lamar Martin.

Mr. and Mrs. Edwards were both born and raised in Lyerly. Mrs. Edwards is the former Jane Gilliland. They have lived in Floyd and Chattooga counties for all of their married years with the exception of a short time in Tampa, Fla.

Mr. Edwards is retired from Rhinehart Equipment Company and Mrs. Edwards is retired from Best Manufacturing. They have three sons, Ted Jr., David and Thomas. They have seven grandchildren that all reside in the Rome area.

Mr. and Mrs. Edwards have been enjoying retirement by spending time working in their garden, canning what they have grown, and sharing with friends and family.
