JESUS CAN BE FOUND at many places other than Ridge Ferry Park, and more regularly than once a year as well. However, the continuing spirit of the presence of his teachings in the annual event known as “Jesus in the Park” put on by Action Ministries-Rome, Trinity United Methodist Church with the support of a large army of volunteers, has got to be a sight for eyes made sore by all the negative events in the world.

Thanks to donations and yearlong fund-raising efforts some 1,500 families were supplied with enough free food to last them for two weeks as masses of children partook of free arts/crafts and other activities.

It’s a pretty wonderful thing to have happen in Rome so routinely and perhaps a bit overlooked because there is always so much going on of a positive nature in this community. And sure, it has religious motives and implications but it says much about the nature of the folks who live here, which relies on how they feel about each other and not where they may or may not go to church.
