Only a handful of days remain to purchase tickets for the Rome and Floyd County Empty Bowls 10th anniversary benefit. Tickets are available for $20 at Harvest Moon and the Rome Visitors Center.

The event will take place Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Rome Civic Center and always sells out because there are only a limited number of tickets. Only 300 are available this year.

Attendees will enjoy a soup and salad dinner and receive a bowl created by a local potter.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Hospitality House. Food is donated by local restaurants for the event.

Guests are encouraged to bring canned goods for donation and donors will be entered into a drawing to win a handmade ceramic centerpiece by Tesa Dupre, the Rome event’s founder. Chances will also be sold for $1. Commemorative 10th anniversary T-shirts will also be sold at the door for $15.

Empty Bowls is an international project to fight hunger and is locally driven by area potters and community members with a passion to bring positive change to Rome and surrounding areas through arts and education.
