Forestar Group has announced third quarter net income of $19.5 million, or $0.54 per diluted share, compared with third quarter 2008 net income of $0.9 million, or $0.02 per diluted share.

Forestar was spun off from Temple-Inland Inc. in December 2007. It has offices in Cartersville and Douglasville and has planned a multi-use development on approximately 1,020 acres along Ga. 140 just west of Adairsville.
