The Lady Chargers were victorious in their first ever game in program history as they defeated the Lady Lions 84-60. Gabrielle Kendall led the Lady Chargers with 18 points.
Seandre Lee scored 17, Amber Curtis had 14, and Manon Cherubini and Shanique Holston each scored 12 points.
The Chargers had a much tougher task as they faced a Lions team that made the Sweet 16 last year, and was the No. 8-ranked team in the preseason poll. The men’s team fell to to Lions 97-57.
Damon Mitchell led the Chargers with 21 points, Femi Ojuolape added 16 points.
The Lady Chargers (1-0) and Chargers (0-1) next action will be Sunday as they host Wallace State in the first-ever home games on the GHC campus.
