AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — Fives juveniles are back in custody after escaping from the Augusta Youth Development Campus.

The Augusta Chronicle reports that a corrections officer called the facility Friday evening to report seeing the escapees on a roadside. That call came five minutes after another corrections officer noticed that five youths were missing from their unit.

Authorities said the five youths stole a car and led police on a chase. The car was abandoned and three youths were caught.

One of the remaining escapees was apprehended by a Department of Corrections canine team. The last of the youths was captured Sunday afternoon.
