Have you ever been at the end of your rope trying to work with your child or adult child with a mental illness? Do you have a mental illness and would like to know more on how to manage your illness? The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is a grassroots organization that advocates, educates, and supports family members and persons with mental illness.

Jim and I have a 30 year old daughter with a mental illness and because of the education and support we have received from NAMI Rome over the last 14+ years, we have been able to better understand her illness so as to help her.  She also has been involved in NAMI for years and has learned about her illness from her peers through education courses, and she has learned how to manage her illness and leads a productive life.

NAMI Rome is so excited to offer three free educations programs starting in February. Peer to Peer is a 10-week course for persons with mental illness and taught by persons with mental illness. Family to Family is a 12-week course for family members and caregivers that have an adult loved one with a mental illness.

NAMI Basics is a 6-week course for family members and caregivers of a child with emotional and/or behavioral issues. Class size is limited so contact Bonnie Moore at 706-232-4607 to learn more and sign up.
