A Ringgold family is offering a $50 reward for the return of a family heirloom that was stolen during broad daylight two days before Thanksgiving.

According to Keena Anderson, two unidentified men stole a cane from her 78-year-old mother Barbara while she was attempting to get into her vehicle after shopping on Tuesday, Nov. 20.

“She was in the parking lot at the Shop-Rite in downtown Ringgold and had the cane leaning up against her bumper,” Anderson said. “Then two men grabbed the cane and took off with it.”

Anderson says the two men sped away in a red Honda pickup truck, and that her mother eventually got in her car and went after them.

“She tried following them and lost them while she was chasing them down Salem Valley Road,” Anderson said. “Mom said that she couldn't get a tag number from the truck.”
