Middle School Basketball: Tigers win middle school championship

The Darlington Middle School boys basketball recently won the middle school championship with a win against Chattooga. The team is made up of Andrew Land (from left), Kelan Stepp, Nick Mauer, Karl Swiger, JD Hull, Sam Berry, JT Mumber, Gamble Shadday, Mason Tant, Hollis Ledbetter, Cooper Brock, coach Joe Pieroni, coach Kevin Ivester, Elijah McKoy, Skyler Sledge, Zach Kadum and Luke Parker.

The Middle School boys’ basketball team beat Chattooga 38-26 in the championship game on Saturday, earning their third title in the last four years. The Tigers also beat Coosa and Rockmart to get to the finals.

In the final game, Zach Kadum led the Tigers with 13 points, followed by JD Hull with 11 and Elijah McKoy with 10.

They finished the season with a record of 14-3. The boys team has now won 5 of the last 7 league titles.

The team is coached by Kevin Ivester and Joe Pieroni.
