Marian and Morningside will make their way into Rome today, and Bill Peterson, co-chairman of the NAIA Host Committee, said they are looking forward to welcoming some new faces to Rome.
“I think everybody is excited,” said Peterson. “Certainly the Host Committee is excited about two new teams that have never been to Rome, and showing off the city, showing off Barron Stadium, and showing them some Rome hospitality.”
Peterson said all the plans are arranged to meet the teams, and make sure they get to all the places they need to be during the Championship Week.
“Everything’s in place,” said Peterson. “It’s just making sure all the logistics fall in place. Both teams will be sleeping in Rome Georgia tomorrow evening.”
Marian and Morningside will kick off Thursday at 6:30 p.m. for the NAIA championship.
