North Broad Baptist Church will host an evening of Broadway selections by Shorter College senior Doront’e Evans on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

After beginning his college career at Shorter, Evans spent several years as a professional actor in various shows across the country. He returned to Shorter two years ago to complete his musical theatre degree and will graduate in December.

As he relaunches his professional career, Evans will give a final performance as a Shorter student. The event takes place at North Broad Baptist Church and will feature a variety of Broadway music.

Evans will perform selections from “Smokey Joe’s Cafe,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Big River,” “Seussical the Musical,” “The Putnam County Spelling Bee,” “Spamalot” and “Rent.”

A love offering will be taken. Suggested donations are $10 for adults and $5 for students. All the funds raised will be given to Evans as a gift to relaunch his acting career.
