A job fair is planned to find 75 seasonal employees for Rome-based Petz Enterprises on Monday at the Goodwill Career Center on Hicks Drive.

Staff at Rome’s Kelly Services will be hosting the event from 9 a.m. until noon. Petz is a tax software company based in the former State Mutual Insurance building on Redmond Circle.

A California-based, family owned company, Petz is the developer of the CrossLink Suite of professional tax software solutions and Taxbrain.com for consumers. The company has been providing compliance solutions to the accounting and tax industry for more than 35 years.

“The positions do require some technical skills and knowledge of computers,” said Angie Douglass of Kelly Services.

She explained that the jobs could start anywhere from the end of November to the first of December and some will run all the way through the tax season that lasts into April.

“Some people, the jobs could last toward the end of January, but some of them could last longer,” Douglass said.

The employees will be providing technical assistance and software support via telephone. Starting pay is $12 per hour, and work is available on day and evening shifts.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, and some college work in business administration or computer sciences is preferred. The ideal candidates will have one to three years of software support service.

Petz opened a southeast regional office in Rome in September of 2010 and expanded from a small office on North Fifth Avenue to much larger space in the old State Mutual building in July of 2011.

Applicants can contact personnel at Kelly Services, 3 E. Sixth Ave., by calling 706-235-9117.
