ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — The University of Georgia plans to host political satirists the Capitol Steps for a show about a week before the general election.

The group is set to appear Oct. 30 at 8 p.m. at Hodgson Concert Hall. The Steps have called themselves "equal opportunity offenders" and will poke fun at candidates on both sides of the aisle.

The group began in 1981 as a group of Senate staffers who satirized their employers. Since then, they've recorded more than 30 albums. Their latest, "Take the Money and Run for President," features caricatures of Mitt Romney and Barack Obama hauling sacks of money across a finish line on its cover.

The group is based in Washington, D.C., but they perform around the country.
