Labor Day has come and gone, and to me it signals the beginning of a true

routine. Schools are in full swing, those wonderful holiday gatherings are coming up in

a few months and the weather is getting cooler.

This is the time of year when many of us decide since we will be in long pants and sweaters for the next several months (my

husband excluded), it's OK to slack off on our healthy lifestyles we have been working

hard on the past seven months.

The past seven months have been challenging for the Health Questers. Changing eating and exercising habits is tough and it is very easy to lose

your motivation and your enthusiasm when you are not seeing the results you expected.

For many people, they saw amazing results the first 2-3 months, but as summer hit and

their routines changed, so did the results.

So now that summer is over and most are able to get back into a normal routine,

it is time to stand up again and find your motivation to finish this Health Quest the same

way it began….with enthusiasm!

What was your initial motivation for joining Health Quest or following along with the group?

For some people plain and simple, it was to lose weight and feel comfortable in their skin. For others it was to be that support for

a family member or friend that wanted to lead a healthier life but couldn’t do it alone.

Everyone had something that motivated them to participate in this Health Quest when we

began in February, and now it is time to find that motivation again and finish what we

have started.

Charlotte’s article this week talks about the simple act of walking and her new

mantra “just put your shoes on…” is going to help her stay active.

Can you follow in her footsteps and get out and walk a little bit each day? Just take a simple stroll to the

mailbox, walk around the neighborhood, or take a few laps around your favorite store.

If you are not into walking, what’s something that you enjoy that will help get you

up and active again?

Remember back to the beginning of Health Quest. What did you

enjoy participating in….what got you moving? Was it another person or a particular

program?

Reconnect with it and get back on track to finishing what you set out to do!

You can do anything you set your mind to and I as well as the rest of the people

involved in this program believe in you!
