Vikings baseball shuts out Bates

Austin Neely had three hits, and Berry College held Bates to one hit in a 6-0 victory on Tuesday.

Berry improved to 3-3 and Bates dropped to 0-1.

Neely was 3-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs and socred one run.

On the mound, starter TJ Montgomery (2-0) got the win and tossed six innings of one-hit ball. He sturck out six and walked one.

Ben Jernigan worked three perfect innings in relief and garnered a save.

The Vikings notched a season-high 13 hits in the contest. Stephen Gaylor, Zach Farmer, and Alex McGill had collected two hits apiece.

The teams play a doubleheader today at Bowdoin Field begining at 2 p.m.
