Water main break stalls traffic on Turner McCall Boulevard near Broad Street

According to Leigh Ross, director of the Rome Water and Sewer Department, the water main break at the intersection of Turner McCall Boulevard and Broad Street was a water leak on a main line.

"It's an old water main," Ross said. "It just developed a leak."

Ross said shortly before 3:30 on Thursday that it could take three to four hours to fix the leak.

The northbound lane of Turner McCall going toward Shorter Avenue was blocked.
