A Shannon man remains in jail on a felony drug charge after he was found inside of a car at a motel on Martha Berry Boulevard, reports stated.
According to reports from the Floyd County Jail:
Jeremy Stanton Edwards, 26, of 1248 Thomas Bluff Road in Shannon, was initially charged by Rome police for misdemeanor charges of entering an automobile, loitering or prowling and public drunkenness after he was found inside of a car parked at a local motel around 1:40 a.m. Sunday.
Police stated Edwards had tried to enter a number of rooms at the motel before getting into the car and passing out, where police found him and took him to the Floyd County Jail.
Once at the jail, Edwards reportedly resisted officers and made threats against them. A small bag of suspected marijuana was found in his sock.
He was also charged with felony possession of marijuana across the guard line and multiple misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana less than an ounce, three counts of obstruction of officers, entering an automobile, loitering or prowling and public drunkenness.
He will have his first court appearance today.
