Amelia Tate and Foncuyon Finley Sr. were married at 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, at  Holsey Sinai C.M.E. Church in Rome.

The bride is the daughter of  Mr. and Mrs. Petre and Tammy Greene and Charles Wright Sr., all of Rome.

The groom is the son Mr. and Mrs. Gregory and Georgia Finley of Rome.

Pastor James B. Jewell of Rome performed the double-ring ceremony beneath a colonnade arch covered in fern draped with white tulle. A silver 15-light candle arch stood in the background decorated with an oasis vine and silver and white tulle.

A program of wedding music was performed by Courtney Slocum Sr. Selections included “Jesus is Love,” “Here I Stand” and “You For Me.” Soloist Jerome “Jay Jay” Braylock performed “When I First Saw You.”

Latoya Sims of Rome was the maid of honor. She wore an oasis strapless satin A-line cascading dress. Bridesmaids were Franchell Finley, sister of groom, Tansha Ragland, and Kendricia Tate, cousins of the bride, all of Rome. They wore oasis satin strapless rhinestone belted tea-length dresses. Junior bridesmaids were DeMya Bryan and Ambria Darby, daughter of the bride, both of Rome. They wore oasis and teal hem crinkle chiffon and charmeuse dresses with baby’s breath wrapped around the ball in their hair.

LaNiya Johnson and Sammya Sewell, niece of the groom, both of Rome, were the flower girls. They wore soft white tulle dresses with beaded flower accents at the top. They carried white flower baskets and tossed out teal and white petals.

The bride, escorted and given in marriage by her father, wore a white halter A-line embroidered lace gown with beading of pearls and sequins cascading down the front of the dress and the cathedral-length train. She wore an elbow-length single-tiered veil bordered with white pearls accompanied with a flower tiara with rhinestones. The bride carried a cascading bouquet of off white roses and calla lilies with teal and white tulle.

Derris Tate of Rome, uncle of the bride, was the best man. Groomsmen were Detavious Milner and Charles Wright Jr., brothers of the bride, and Foncuyon Finley Jr., son of the groom, all of Rome. Junior groomsmens were Koderius and Braxton Ragland, sons of the bride, both of Rome.

Taylen Cochran was the ring bearer, and Courtney Slocum Jr. was the bell ringer.

Raymond Barrett Sr. was the usher.

The mother of the bride wore an ankle-length silver shimmering two-piece dress suit with sequins along with matching hat and shoes. The mother of the groom wore an ankle-length white two-piece hi/low dress trimmed in white lace. They were presented with corsages of white roses and miniature calla lilies.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Etowah Senior Recreation Center. Refreshments included the bride’s three-tier yellow cake with white butter cream icing. The base displayed a fountain with lights, white roses and calla lilies and teal tulle matching the bride’s bouquet. The groom’s chocolate cake with chocolate icing was in the shape of double hearts joined together as one.
