The first month results are in for Health Quest 2011, the public weight-loss initiative being presented by the Rome Floyd-County YMCA, Floyd Medical Center and the Rome News-Tribune.

About 270 people are participating. In the initial month, they recorded a total weight loss of 696 pounds.

Jenny Ward was the Subway Winner of the Month among the 114 individual participants, losing 9.84 percent of her weight during the month. Individual participants lost a total of 310 pounds.

In the team challenge, the Subway Winning Team of the Month was the Fab Five with 3.85 percent. The 153 people on teams lost a total of 386 pounds in the past month.

The next Health Quest meetings are scheduled for April 19 at Mount Berry Square mall at noon and 6 p.m. A speaker from Floyd Medical will talk about nutrition and a trainer from the YMCA will talk about the FIT Principle.

Weekly weigh-ins are each Wednesday from 5

a.m. to 9 p.m. at the YMCA, 810 E. Second Ave. in Rome.
