Several youth baseball teams managed to do so on Wednesday at Riverview Park.
During the sixth day of action at the Dizzy Dean 6-and-under World Series, several squads were able to beat the rain by notching victories early in the afternoon — just before a strong wave of thundershowers arrived in the area and pelted the field for roughly an hour.
In fact, only one game was interrupted by rain, the final contest on the schedule for the day.
Now, the stage is set for “crunch time” as teams prepare for the final rounds of the tournament, slated for today and Friday at Riverview Park.
