Katherine Hope Kennedy and Joel David Steiner were married at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday July 22, 2012 in St Paul’s Episcopal Church, Mishawaka, Ind.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Kennedy of Rome. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alan Steiner of Fort Wayne, Ind.

The Reverend Michael Cover officiated at the service and The Reverend Heather Bakker Ghormley presented the homily. The Reverend Susan B Haynes, The Reverend Peter Tierney and The Reverend Veronica Tierney assisted, serving communion. Julianna Ghormley, the bride’s goddaughter, was the cross-bearer for the processional hymn.

The service music included “Love Divine, All Love’s Excelling,” “Wachet Auf” and “In Dir ist Freude” played by organist Joel Vincent Lloyd Bevington. Erin Westmaas, cousin

of the bride, Laura Buschbacher, sister of the groom and Ian Kennedy, brother of the bride, sang solos.

Laura Rominger Porter was the cellist.

The bride, escorted by her father, wore a gown of ivory taffeta silk, with beading at the neckline and asymmetrical ruching at the waist. It flowed into a full skirt with a chapel-length train. She wore a headband made by her cousin, Rebecca Kennedy, which included some of their grandmother Kennedy’s antique jewelry. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of white hydrangea, daisies, baby’s breath and coral sweetheart roses.

The bride was attended by Rebecca Kennedy of Richmond Va., Heather Sullivan of Philadelphia, Pa., Veronica Tierney of Little Compton, R.I. and Erin Westmaas of Rome. The bridesmaids wore knee length dresses in shades of green, yellow and corals and carried bouquets of white hydrangea and baby’s breath. The sanctuary was decorated with sprays of white, yellow and coral gladiolas.

Michael Buschbacher, of South Bend, Ind., Gregory Floyd of Boston, Mass., Peter Hochstedler of South Bend, Ind., and Luke Steiner of Fort Wayne, Ind. served as groomsmen.

A reception at The Oaks at South Paw, Ind., followed the ceremony.

Following a trip to northern Michigan the couple will reside in South Bend, Ind.
