ASSUME you took your car that was barely running to a mechanic for repairs and paid $1,500 for the repairs and found out that it still did not run right.

Would you take it back to him for more costly repairs if he said he now knows how to fix it? Does that make you think about the upcoming presidential election?

We have very well publicized failures of leadership and performance on the economy. Our energy policy is one that supports moonbeam thoughts of green energy and penalizes proven sources of energy from abundant fossil fuels. We have foreign policy fiascoes with Libya, Egypt, Syria, and Iran with an “Arab Spring” that has turned out to be a sound foundation for an Islamic Caliphate around the Mediterranean.

Liberal politicians say, among many other misstatements, that Romney policies are just a repeat of policies that got us into the current fiscal crisis. This is just not true. Liberals, led by Rep. Barney Frank and Sen. Chris Dodd, felt everyone should own a home, whether they could afford it or not and they pushed Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac to purchase mortgages from banks who were forced by ACORN and others to make clearly bad loans. When President Bush tried to rein in the unsound policies of Fanny and Freddie he was roundly criticized by liberals and prevented from enacting the desired reforms. Wall Street bankers are not clean on this issue either, but the liberals in Congress, not President Bush, created the crisis.

Gov. Romney may not be your image of the perfect candidate. That, however, is irrelevant. The choice is between Romney and Obama.

The Obama record in nearly every aspect of his performance has been a failure and he, unlike President Clinton after four years, has not proposed any significant changes for a second term.

For voters to ignore the obvious failures in the past four years and consider reelecting him is, to use a phrase from Hillary Clinton, a “willful suspension of disbelief”.
