Summerville man dies after one-vehicle wreck

A man with ties to Floyd County died Wednesday evening at Floyd Medical Center as a result of injuries he sustained in a wreck.

According to the Georgia State Patrol:

Robert William Ramey Jr., 20, of 2864 Silver Hill Road, Summerville, was involved in a one-vehicle wreck on U.S. 27 at Scott Hill in Chattooga County on Tuesday at about 9:45 a.m.

Ramey lost control of his vehicle while negotiating a turn and struck a culvert. The vehicle then flipped numerous times before coming to rest.

Ramey, a 2010 graduate of Rome High School, was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the wreck.
