Thanks to donations and yearlong fund-raising efforts some 1,500 families were supplied with enough free food to last them for two weeks as masses of children partook of free arts/crafts and other activities.
It’s a pretty wonderful thing to have happen in Rome so routinely and perhaps a bit overlooked because there is always so much going on of a positive nature in this community. And sure, it has religious motives and implications but it says much about the nature of the folks who live here, which relies on how they feel about each other and not where they may or may not go to church.
