Knight Manis and Dixie Manis of Rome announce the engagement of their daughter, Abby Rae Manis, to Nathan Wayne Garrett, son of Nathan Garrett and Peggy Garrett of Rome. 

Miss Manis is a 2003 graduate of Coosa High School and attended Jacksonville State University and Georgia Northwestern. She is employed at Talbots.

The bride-elect is the sister of Emily Blanton of Rome.  She is the granddaughter of Linda Manis of Rome and the late Lamar and Margaret Chapman, Bill Manis, and Jim and Joan Combs. 

Garrett is a 2004 graduate of Model High School.  He is employed at Tucker Electric in Rome.

The groom-elect is the father of Alexis Garrett and the brother of Brittany Fincher of Rome. He is the grandson of John and Patty Garrett, Wade and Margaret Kirby, and Lola Kirby, all of Rome.

The wedding ceremony is planned for 6:30 p.m., September 30, 2012 in Laguna Beach, Fla.  A reception will follow. Invitations have been sent.
