Area under tornado watch until 9 p.m. tonight

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for a large area of Georgia including Floyd County. The tornado watch ends at 9 p.m. tonight.

Since 8 p.m. Sunday we've gotten 2.29 inches of rain and we're looking to get at least another half to three-quarters of an inch today. There is a possibility of thunderstorms today with a high near 75 and a low around 63 tonight, according to the National Weather Service.

Tonight showers are likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 10 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Tuesday A 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 75. South wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.
