Mrs. Trevor Owen Roberts
The bride is the daughter of Martin and Stacy Davis of Silver Creek. She is the granddaughter of Albert and Shirley Burnes, Early Davis all of Rome and the late Geraldine Davis.
The groom is the son of James and Patsy Roberts of Silver Creek. He is the grandson of the late Owens and Ida Forsyth and Marlene Roberts DeBoard, and the adoptive grandson of Robert and Nancy Ingram of Silver Creek.
The Reverend Billy Fricks of Lindale performed the double ring ceremony before an altar decorated with a mass arrangement consisting of orange lilies, deep purple mums, yellow hydrangea, lavender magnolias, white, purple and orange wisteria along with two bronze tree candelabras and a unity candle, each adorned with ivy and ivory satin and organza bows. Chapel pews were adorned with ivory satin and organza bows.
Music was provided by pianist Miriam Moon of Powder Springs. The prelude included “In This Very Room” by Pam Rutland of Rome and “Amazing Grace” by Diane Jones of Rome. Other selections included “I Will Be Here” by John Shore of Carrollton, “Look What Love Has Done” by Karen Hardwell of Silver Creek; “You Are” by Teresa Dudley of Silver Creek and Mark Winstead, of Rome; and “How Beautiful” by Amanda Scholl of Metairie, La. The Processional was “The Bridal Chorus” and the recessional was “The Wedding March.” As a surprise, the groom sang “Love Never Fails” to the bride after they exchanged wedding vows.
The bride, given in marriage by parents and escorted by her father, wore a side draped A-line gown of ivory matte satin. The sweetheart bodice and cap sleeves of illusion lace featured hand beading of pearls and crystals. The back of the bodice closed with small covered satin buttons. The full skirt featured a chapel length train. She wore a tiara of pearls and crystal beading and a chapel length ivory silk veil that was edged with wide beaded lace. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white roses, orange lilies, lavender magnolias, orange berries, purple heather and included an antique handkerchief that belonged to the groom’s grandmother. She carried a sixpence in her shoe that was also carried by her mother and her sister at their weddings.
Stephanie Davis Meadows of Rome, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor and Madison Davis of Silver Creek, also sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Briana Phillips, Rachel Hall and Rachel Stewart, all of Rome; Carol Lampley of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., Erica Crumley of Columbus, Lynde Worley of Calhoun and Emily Burkhalter of Silver Creek. They wore gowns of eggplant chiffon. The spaghetti strapped wrapped bodice featured a deep V-neckline accented with an asymmetrical ruffle. The knee length pencil
skirt was draped to the side with a back slit. Matching pearl earrings and bracelets, gifts from the bride, completed their ensembles. They each carried hand bouquets of orange lilies, yellow hydrangea and deep purple mums.
Flower girls were Katelyn Meadows, niece of the bride and Adeline Grace Harrison, cousin of the bride, both of Rome. They wore ivory chiffon and tulle dresses featuring rosettes along the hemline and were adorned with deep orange sashes. They each carried ivory satin baskets filled with eggplant rose petals.
Austin Roberts, brother of the groom and Marcus Holloway, both of Silver Creek, were the best men. Groomsmen were Jeff Meadows, brother-in-law of the bride, Allan Cole, Dustin Fincher, Zach Green, all of Rome; Kyle Davis of Silver Creek; Matt Mixer of Knoxville, Tenn., and Will Henderson of Chesapeake, Va. Ring bearers were Alex Harrison, cousin of the bride and Jamey Green, both of Rome.
The mother of the bride wore a knee-length, black sleeveless taffeta dress that featured a ruffled V-neckline and a
tiered skirt. The mother of the groom wore a knee-length, slate sleeveless taffeta dress with a peplum accented at the waist with a rhinestone motif.
After the ceremony, a reception was held in Ford Dining Hall at Berry College. Refreshments included the bride’s four tier, square confection consisting of white cake with butter crème icing. It featured a dot and swirl pattern, with the couple’s initial and fresh flowers on the top layer. The groom’s strawberry cake with cream cheese icing was in the shape of a tennis racket with tennis ball cupcakes surrounding it. The bride and groom left the reception in the father of the bride’s vintage 1965 Ford Mustang.
The evening before the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner in Ford Dining Hall at Berry College.
Other pre-nuptial parties included a miscellaneous shower hosted by Briana Phillips and Angie Minge at the Phillips home; a miscellaneous shower hosted by Teresa Dudley, Phyllis Rampley and Kim Harrison at the Dudley home; a His and Hers shower hosted by Jessica Beam, Amanda Fincher and Emily Burkhalter at the Beam home; a miscellaneous shower hosted by Gail Burkhalter at the Burkhalter home; a miscellaneous shower hosted by Sylvia Cash at the Cash home; a miscellaneous shower hosted by the ladies at Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church; a miscellaneous shower hosted by co-workers of the bride at Model High School; a lingerie shower and bachelorette weekend in Helen, Georgia hosted by Erica Crumley and Carol Lampley; and a Bridesmaid luncheon the Saturday before the wedding at the Coosa House in Coosa, Georgia, hosted by Pam Blankenship, Abbie Blankenship, Nicole Martin, Emily Martin and Charlene Leonard.
After a wedding trip to St. Augustine, Fla., the couple resides in Silver Creek.
