Mr. and Mrs. Gary Burkhalter of Silver Creek announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Ann Burkhalter, to Matthew Gregory Claytor, son Mr. and Mrs. Greg Claytor of Armuchee.

Miss Burkhalter is a 2005 honor graduate of Pepperell High School. She graduated cum laude from North Georgia College and State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health and Physical Education. She obtained her Master of Arts degree in teaching from North Georgia and is currently pursuing a Specialist Degree from Lincoln Memorial University. She is currently employed as a Physical Education teacher at Armuchee Middle School. She coaches junior varsity basketball and is assistant varsity basketball coach at Armuchee High School. She also coaches middle school cross country and track and is a certified instructor at CrossFit UCS.

The bride-elect is the sister of Amanda Fincher and Sara Burkhalter. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ingram of Silver Creek and the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Burkhalter.

Claytor is a 2003 honor graduate of Armuchee High School. He graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in History, Technology and Society. He will be graduating with his master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Georgia Southern University in December. He is employed by Unity Christian School as a History teacher. He also coaches varsity boys basketball.

The groom-elect is the brother of Ben Claytor of Armuchee. He is the grandson of Cathy Arthur of Armuchee, Joyce Brand of Rome, and Mr. and Mrs. James Stewart of Armuchee.

The wedding is planned for Nov. 10, 2012 at Proctor Farm in Rome. A reception will follow also at Proctor Farm. Invitations have been sent.
