Man charged with drug possession, forgery

A Rockmart man was arrested at the Bartow County line near Chulio Road on Saturday and was allegedly found to be in possession of counterfeit money and methamphetamine, according to a Floyd County Jail report.

According to the report:

Jimmy Lloyd Parrott Jr, 50, of 836 College St., was charged after police allegedly found him to have a bag of methamphetamine in his front pants pocket, two counterfeit $100 bills, one counterfeit $20 bill and one counterfeit $1 bill.

The report stated Parrott is a convicted felon and police also found a firearm in his possession.

He was charged with four felony counts of forgery in the second degree, and felony counts of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

He was being held without bond.
