Investor financing may be the best option for a business that needs capital, but an assessment is an important first step in the evaluation process. “Seeking Equity” is an educational program open to all new and established business owners in Northwest Georgia that want more information about obtaining an equity investment in their business from outside investors. Accredited

investors interested in learning more about the private equity investment process are welcome to attend as well.

This program includes a comparison of requirements for bank financing and investor capital as well as an overview of the basic essentials of an investment package. Once participants have decided if equity funding is the proper match, they will learn the importance of the strength and expertise of the visionary and the management team, why a consensus of the group on both business issues and human considerations is required (who stays, who goes, and who is needed), and what to expect in ownership dilution and valuation. Investors with the Northwest Georgia Regional Angel Investors Network will also share comments on the basics.

The class will be held on Thursday, November 8th at 5:30 p.m. at the Georgia Power Auditorium, 800 Broad Street, Rome, Georgia 30161.
