Police: Caregiver stole from elderly patients

Floyd County police have arrested a Rome woman on theft and exploitation charges for stealing from elderly patients while she was their caregiver, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the reports:

Delecia Eshon Polard Kennedy, 24, of 1324 Crane Street, was caring for the patients at an assisted living facility on Cedartown Highway.

She stole a wedding ring from one victim and a gold necklace and pendant from another victim.

The items were pawned at a local pawnshop.

Kennedy is charged with felony theft by taking, two counts of felony theft by receiving stolen property, two counts of felony theft by deception, and two counts of felony abuse, neglect or exploitation of an elderly person.
