Police said a man who was visiting a home in North Rome appeared to be uninjured after his car ended up in a ditch late Wednesday.

According to Rome police officer Steve Cantrell:

Kevin Conerd, of Rome, was backing up the driveway at 541 Reece St. Wednesday night when his Toyota Camry went too far to the left and he ended up in a ditch next to the driveway with his car laying on its side.

Audrey Montgomery said she was turning onto Whatley Street at the end of Reece Street when she saw the car in the ditch and called 911.

Conerd appeared to be alert while emergency responders pulled him from the vehicle.

He was taken to Floyd Medical Center to be checked out.
