Melissa Kay Law and Kip Hamilton Warren, both of Cartersville, were married at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012 at The Historic Covered Bridge in Euharlee.

The bride is the daughter of Karen Law of Rome. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Buren Burns and the late Emmett Law.

The groom is the son of James “Hamp” Warren and Tina Evans, both of Cartersville. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. George Warren of Rome, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Payne of Rydal, and the late Patsy Davis.

The Reverend Joshua Woody performed the double-ring ceremony on the bridge in front of family and friends. The bridge opening served as the backdrop for the ceremony and it was decorated with cascading handmade pompoms made by the bride’s mother.

Leah Tucker was the matron of honor. Amber Hardy, Christina Green and Nina Piatt were the bridesmaids. They wore dark grey cocktail length convertible wrap dresses made from a matte jersey material that allowed them to each wear a different style.

PJ Piatt was the best man. Adam Williams, Michael Tanner, and Chris Gilpatrick were the groomsmen. Blake Ralston was the ring bearer. They wore yellow bandanas in place of pocket squares to honor Christopher Matthew Price who was a beloved friend of the bride and groom.

The bride was given in marriage by her mother and escorted by her brother, Daniel Law. She wore an ivory strapless royal satin mermaid gown, with a slight sweetheart neckline, accented by a champagne sash with crystals and pearls at her waist. She wore a chapel length veil. The bride carried a bouquet of handmade golden yellow ranunculus flowers.

The mother of the bride wore a full length royal blue empire waist chiffon gown with embellishments at the neckline.

The mother of the groom wore a full length one shoulder purple jersey gown with a side slit.

Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held at Frankie Harris Park in Euharlee. The bride’s cake was a three-tiered white cake with delicately ruffled buttercream icing with handmade pistachio shell flowers adorning the top of the bride’s cake. The groom’s cake was a single layer Coca-Cola cake. The groom’s cake table featured a firefighter theme.

The evening before the wedding, the bride and groom hosted a rehearsal dinner for the wedding party and their families at Frankie Harris Park.

Other prenuptial parties included a bridal shower at the home of Marlyn Nix hosted by Leah Tucker, Sheila Fuller and Maryln Nix, a miscellaneous shower hosted by the bride’s employer Coosa Valley Federal Credit Union, a couples shower at Mountain Brook subdivision pool house, and a bridal shower at Friendship Baptist Church Fellowship Hall hosted by Tina Evans and Angie Woody.

A bachelorette party was held in Nashville, Tenn., and hosted by Leah Tucker and Amber Hardy.

Following a honeymoon to Myrtle Beach and Charleston, S.C., the couple will reside in Cartersville.
