The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Perry Merrill White III of Knoxville, Tenn. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Jere F. White Sr. of Cartersville, Dr. and Mrs. Perry M. White, Jr. of Atlanta and the late Judge Jere F. White Sr.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Wayne Cauthen of Rome. He is the grandson of Mrs. Cecil Jefferson Cauthen of Rome, the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Russell Parker and the late Cecil Jefferson Cauthen.
A program of wedding music was provided by organist Dr. Eunsuk Jung and trumpeter Mark Simpson. Dr. George Bitzas sang “Surely the Presence” preceding the ceremony.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an ivory strapless gown of silk duchess satin with a sweetheart neckline. She wore a full length veil made of alencon lace that had been worn by her mother and other family members at their weddings. Helen carried bouquet of white Eskimo roses, mini callas, dahlias, ranunculus, montbresia seedpods, scabiosa seedpods, and lizianthus. Her jewelry was borrowed from her maternal grandmother and her mother-in-law.
Martha Lynne Fulk and Emily Anne King of Knoxville, Tenn., served as maids of honor. The bridesmaids were Rebecca Landis Cauthen, sister of the groom, of Rome, Michelle Glover McNutt of Dallas, Texas, Kathryn Machiela Wilhoite of Sandy Springs and Whitney Nicole Wilson of Atlanta. The attendants wore charcoal strapless dresses and carried bouquets of green cymbidium orchids, pale peach hypericum, montbresia seed and scabiosa seed.
Avery Bennett White, the bride’s niece, of Greensboro, N.C., served as the flower girl and carried a bouquet of white spray roses, ranunculus, and liziantus attached to an antique silver compote carried by the ring bearer in her paternal great grandparent’s wedding.
Steven Lee Pruitt of Cave Spring served as best man. The groomsmen were Justin Van Griffin of Albany, Justin Colby Heape of Albany, Preston Young Register of Dothan, Ala., Bryan Collier White, brother of the bride, of Charlotte, N.C., and Robert Merrill White, brother of the bride, of Greensboro, N.C. The groom and groomsmen wore black tuxedos with green cymbidium orchids and montbresia seed boutonnieres.
Following the ceremony the parents of the bride entertained at a reception held in the gardens of Crescent Bend-Lockett House in Knoxville, Tenn.
The evening before the wedding the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Wayne Cauthen, hosted a rehearsal dinner at Calhoun’s on the River in Knoxville, Tenn.
Mr. and Mrs. Cauthen reside in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
