BRUNSWICK, Ga. (AP) — A retired elementary school teacher pleaded guilty but mentally ill as part of a plea agreement in the shooting death of her husband last year in Glynn County, near the Georgia coast.

Authorities say 63-year-old Frederika Blasko entered the pleas Monday to charges of voluntary manslaughter and possession of a firearm during a crime.

Anthony Blasko, a 62-year-old retired Glynn Academy teacher, was found shot once in his head in August 2011 at the couple's home. Frederika Blasko was arrested that day and initially charged with murder.

The Brunswick News reports that Frederika Blasko on Monday was sentenced to 10 years in prison, followed by 15 years of probation and mental health treatment.
