SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) — The group that sponsors the Savannah fair where seven people were wounded by gunfire is offering a $5,000 reward for information that helps police find the shooter.

The Exchange Club of Savannah presented a check for the reward amount Wednesday to CrimeStoppers, which already has $2,500 available for tips leading to an arrest and conviction. That brings the total reward amount to $7,500.

Savannah-Chatham County police are still looking for the gunman who opened fire late Saturday at the crowded Coastal Empire Fair. Seven people were shot, most of them teens between the ages of 14 and 19, but no one was killed.

City council members on Thursday are expected to consider police requests estimated at $6.9 million to pay for more juvenile officers, a new drug squad and more investigators.
