Structure fire reported at Moore's Transmission in Polk County

A fire a Moore's Transmission, 2216 Rockmart Hwy., in Cedartown, was reported Thursday morning around 10 a.m.

At the scene, white smoke was visible and billowing from the roof of the business. According to Cedartown Fire Chief Sammy Stephens, the fire was most likely caused by an electrical shortage. There were no injuries reported and there is no word yet regarding the extent of structure damage.

Both the City of Cedartown Fire Department and the Polk County Fire Department responded to the call, along with the Cedartown Police Department, the Polk County Police Department, the Sheriff's Department and local EMS.
