A Belk loss prevention officer suffered minor scratches after attempting to stop a woman from leaving the store with merchandise she did not pay for, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the reports:

Crissie Anne Wells, 35, of 6 Black’s Bluff Road, Rome, selected several items from the store in Mount Berry Square mall Monday afternoon and walked out without paying for any of them.

When the employee approached her, Wells allegedly scratched them in the face and neck area before being restrained.

Wells remained in jail Monday night without bond. She was charged with felony shoplifting and misdemeanor simpley battery. Reports did not indicate the value of the merchadise.
