Police arrested two Rome women on Friday afternoon after police found them allegedly smoking marijuana in the IHOP parking lot, according to Floyd County Jail and Rome police reports.

According to the reports:

Ashleigh Elizabeth Martin, 23, of 233 Ashland Park Blvd., and Jasmine Simone Johnson Ware, 25, of 2101 High St., were each charged with a felony count of possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.

Police responded to the restaurant on Riverbend Drive in reference to a large crowd at the restaurant that was causing a disturbance.

When officers were leaving IHOP, they smelled marijuana in the parking lot and noticed it was coming from a parked vehicle occupied by Martin and Ware. The women denied having drugs, but officers searched the car with probable cause, the report stated.

Police found a half-smoked joint and a bag containing suspected methamphetamine in the ash tray.

Both women were released from jail on Friday on $6,800 bonds.
