A Rome man was arrested Monday after he allegedly hurt a dog and got into an altercation with two men when they confronted him, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the report:

Timmy Robinson, 52, 140 Weathington Road, was near 611 Excelsior St. Monday morning when he picked up a dog by the throat and

punched a man in the mouth when the man asked him about it.

Robinson then went to his vehicle and retrieved a metal bat from the trunk. He then swung it at both the victim and another man and threatened to come to the second man’s house later.

Robinson was charged with two counts of felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor counts of simple assault, battery and cruelty to animals. He remained in jail Monday night without bond.
