Authorities at the West Rome Walmart, 2520 Redmond Circle, took two people into custody Sunday after they were allegedly caught leaving the discount superstore with more than $100 in merchandise.

According to Floyd County jail reports:

James Tommy Turner, 26, and Jacinda Irene Sturtevant, 26, both of 6 Homestead Circle, Rome, were stopped by personnel after they were observed attempting to leave the store with the undisclosed merchandise. Store personnel detained both suspects until city police could arrive.

Both Turner and Sturtevant were charged with misdemeanor shoplifting and were released from the Floyd County jail on bond Sunday evening.
