Gordon County teen's condition critial after being hit by vehicle

Dawson Mikel Gooch, 14, remains in critical condition, after he was struck by the right side of a Chevrolet Impala around 6:40 p.m. Sunday evening on Hunts Gin Rd. in Calhoun.

According to Georgia State Patrol, Gooch was walking in the roadway with northbound traffic when he was hit. The driver of the vehicle was Lawrence Gohley, 71, from Calhoun. Gooch was airlifted from the scene Sunday, to T.C. Thompson Chidlren’s Hospital for treatment. Gooch’s condition was critical as of press time Tuesday.
