2 pedestrians killed in Savannah car accidents

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) — Police in Savannah say a man in his 50s has become the second person in two days who has died of their injuries after being hit by a car.

George Buchanan was pronounced dead at the Memorial University Medical Center after an accident around 6:30 p.m. Friday. Authorities say he was crossing a street when he was hit by a car.

Police say three people were hit by cars in Savannah on Thursday. Authorities say 53-year-old John Robertson was pronounced dead at the Memorial University Medical Center after being hit by a pickup truck Thursday night.

Officials say the four separate accidents are all under investigation. It was not immediately clear whether charges were expected to be filed against any of the drivers.
