According to the National Weather Service, 6.24 inches of rain was reported at Richard B. Russell Regional Airport in Armuchee during the month of December. That was well above the 4.61 inch normal for the month, but the 12-month total is not as positive.
The NWS reported total rainfall of 44.79 inches for the year, nearly 10 inches below the 54.25 annual average for the county.
The good news is that more rain is on the way, although many people don’t particularly like the gray skies.
